USPS will Relocate Post Office to New Wentzville Facility!

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced that it will relocate its current Wentzville facility to a new development at 812-898 Luetkenhaus Blvd. The USPS disclosed this information in a letter received by Mayor Nick Guccione on Friday, July 7. Mayor Guccione said, “This new location has been needed for a while now. I’m excited that this is happening due to the hard work of several individuals including Wentzville’s Economic Development Director Dan Lang, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, and myself, along with the Board of Aldermen. This collaborative community effort will truly be a benefit to all of Wentzville, and is much needed as we continue to grow.” The USPS held a public meeting as part of the Board of Aldermen meeting on May 24, to discuss plans for a new facility. After the meeting, the public was encouraged to send in comments regarding the project. Currently, the USPS operates a Post Office and Carrier Annex in two separate locations in Wentzville. Due to rapid growth, both buildings have space-deficiency issues. After thorough evaluation, the most cost-effective solution, said the USPS, was to combine these into a single facility. “I am very glad to see that the USPS has recognized the need for this new Wentzville facility. I am extremely appreciative of the efforts of everyone involved to provide this resource for our residents,” said Alderman Michael Rhoades. The USPS will continue to provide services at its current location until the new facility is open and operating. The new location is expected to open in 2018
